Orvieto is located in central Italy between Tuscany and Lazio in the region of Umbria, which is also known as the green heart of Italy. Walking through Orvieto, students will encounter traces of three-thousand years of history layered throughout the town. There are spectacular views from the city, but below Orvieto lies a labyrinth of caves, tunnels, stairs, cellars, and hidden passageways carved into the tuff rock foundation. 

Itinerary: 

Early departure from Florence to Orvieto. Walking tour and guided visit of main sites, including Orvieto’s Duomo (Cathedral), the ‘Pozzo di San Patrizio’ (San Patrizio’s well) and the ‘Città sotterranea’ (underground city). Time to work on FL assignment and free time. Return to Florence in the early evening.
