bolgheri backNORTHERN MAREMMA: ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS AND SUPERTUSCAN WINES

Saturday, February 17

Cost: 80€

This activity gives students the chance to visit historical sites and understand how a product like wine maintained its place of importance in Italy throughout history.
From their earliest settlements, Etruscans planted grape vines to worship Bacchus, the God of Wine. Students will be guided through the history and development of wine production in a visit to a local vineyard.
Attention will be given not only to the methods of production, but also to the international marketing and trade of quality wine, and in particular of protected designation of origin products. The Consortiums for the protection of traditional food products, which run promotions in Italy and throughout the world, are also an excellent example of Territorial Marketing.
